Who I am

Beyond my medical career, I live by the philosophy that life is motion. As a lifelong athlete, I now compete in international tennis, proudly representing Canada at Masters events and achieving a top 10 global ranking in my age group. One of my most cherished moments has been winning the U.S. National Mother-Daughter Championships alongside my daughter.

I practice what I preach, striving to keep moving and doing the things I love. My passion is simple yet powerful: helping people stay active, overcome injuries, and maintain their momentum throughout life.

I invite you to connect with me so we can explore how to work together to achieve your movement goals.

What I Do

After graduating from the University of Toronto in 1985, I completed my residency and fellowship training as an upper extremity and sports surgeon at St. Michael’s Hospital and UCLA. As a surgeon-scientist at Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of Toronto, I advocate for using the power of motion to heal the body. Contrary to the traditional approach of immobilization that I experienced over 40 years ago when my ankle injury was treated in a cast, I pioneered innovative rehabilitation approaches, promoting immediate post-surgery movement to enhance recovery.

My career expanded into sports medicine, where I proudly served as a team physician for:

  • Toronto Blue Jays

  • Toronto Maple Leafs

  • Toronto Argonauts

  • Canadian Billie Jean King Cup Team

  • Orthopaedic Medical Advisor to the WTA

  • Head Tournament Physician WTA Rogers Cup/National Bank Open

With a unique blend of hands-on experience and cutting-edge science, I’m here to guide you with personalized, compassionate solutions that unlock your body’s potential. Let’s embrace a vibrant, active future together!
